Abstract

The miracle of the Qur'an lies not only in its meaningful content. One dimension that makes the Qur'an unrivaled is its linguistic dimension. The linguistic aspect is not only beauty, but also related to the meaningful content contained in each verse of the Qur'an. One of the surahs in the Qur'an with unique linguistic characteristics is Surah al-Ma'un. This study attempts to elaborate on Surah al-Ma'un through a stylistic lens. The research method is qualitative, because it starts from phenomena and focuses more on the interpretation or takwil of a text. The data source is Surah al-Ma'un. The research data are every word, phrase, sentence related to the formal object of the research. The data collection technique utilizes the technique of listening and noting, namely observing each linguistic phenomenon, creating sketches or codes, and then compiling them in a report. The data analysis technique utilizes structural techniques. Data will be examined from the levels of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and imagery, and linking the characteristics of each stage to meaning. The results of the study indicate that each linguistic level is related to meaning. In phonology, it has unique sound characteristics. At the morphological level, the affixation of this word, apart from clarifying the object of the sentence, also means that there are many types of actions in accordance with the interpretation in the following verses. At the syntactic level, the structure shows an inattentive person's interpretation of the verse. At the semantic level there are diction choices that imply the meaning of the verse. And at the imagery level there is a question sentence which means a warning.
